    Jekyll & Hyde: Character vs. Character

    Using Ballet Des Moines’ production of Jekyll and Hyde as inspiration, this three-part unit explores what it means for opposing ideas, feelings or identities to exist simultaneously. Students will use tableaux (frozen body statues), spoken poetry and collage-making to investigate their own dualities and how opposing ideas exist together in the world.

    Ballet Des Moines’ 2022 production of Salem portrayed the social factors that caused the events of the Salem witch trials. In this three-part lesson, students will actively explore these ideas through theater games and visual thinking.
