Internationally celebrated and in high demand, choreographer Jennifer Archibald is no stranger to Ballet Des Moines. From her 2023 ballet DUTY as a guest choreographer at BDM, to free workshops with the youth of Oakridge Neighborhoods, to Masterclasses and world premieres, Archibald has holds a special place in the recent history of Ballet Des Moines.

Duty
world premiere
Jennifer Archibald joined Ballet Des Moines in the spring of 2023 to set her world premiere DUTY on the company dancers. As part of the triple bill SHE, shining a spotlight on female choreographic voices, DUTY premiered at Des Moines Performing Arts’ Stone Theater to critical acclaim.

Since 2021, Ballet Des Moines and Oakridge Neighborhood have worked together, with, and for the youth they serve. BDM Dance Workshops, like the one led by Jennifer Archibald in 2023, supports our mission to develop authentic relationships that ensure everyone feels a sense of belonging.
