SEASON TICKETS NOW ON SALE

Ballet Des Moines is excited to announce our 21-22 season GRAVITY. A natural phenomenon by which all things with mass or energy are brought toward one another, this season promises connection, hope, and a glimpse into the beautiful unknown.

Season ticket holders receive early access to premium seating, season merchandise, and discounted event tickets.

Individual ticket sales for each performance will go on sale approximately six weeks prior to each production.

A diverse collaboration featuring Para.Mar Dance Theatre and the dancers of
Ballet Des Moines.

This Fall, Ballet Des Moines will partner with award-winning choreographer Stephanie Martinez and her company Para.Mar to bring inspirational and engaging art to every corner of our community. Over the course of a five-week residency, Martinez will introduce her work and her story to audiences of all ages across our region, from skate parks to parking lots to prosceniums.

Ballet Des Moines’ Production of
The Nutcracker

Ballet Des Moines is excited to announce that this year The Nutcracker is expanding to two weeks and two locations, allowing for even more community participation and performance opportunities.

Des Moines' only professional production of The Nutcracker, performances will take place at the beautiful, historic Hoyt Sherman Place, December 10-12 as well as the stunning Staplin Performing Arts Center in West Des Moines, December 17-18.

Auditions for The Nutcracker will be held Saturday, August 14 for dancers age five and up! For more information and to register for an audition, click here.

Of Gravity and Light

A collaboration with composer Beau Kenyon, Of Gravity and Light is a new ballet that investigates how the science of space can be interpreted through musical and balletic storytelling while relating it to the complexity of human connection.

This new work was created with research support from Iowa NASA Space Grant Consortium, PBS, 4-H STEM, and Iowa State University. The Of Gravity and Light world premiere invites audience members to contemplate the expansive universe we live in.
